My wife and I had an enjoyable visit to the Waterbury, VT ice cream making factory. Loved the graveyard with stones for discontinued flavors, the solar collectors, extensive playscape for kids and beautiful views. Ben & Jerry's has a funky but serious approach to business, embracing social causes like gun control. It helps that their owner, Unilever, has allowed them to have a separate board of directors since their buyout over 20 years ago. It was a rather quick but interesting tour of the ice cream making process with sampling at the end. Well worth the $6/person charge. They also have a Scoop Shop on the premise.
