Fishkill Farms

I love it here! I visit at least once or twice a year every year. Apple, blackberry & strawberry picking. I love the outdoor cider bar with breathtaking views. Tim, the bar manager, was super nice and accommodating! 👍🏽 I just love this place. A cool local farm to do fruit picking and hayrides. The store has cool local goodies to buy. I got Black currant Jam and Blueberry Lavender cocktail mix. I can’t wait to whip up something with gin! 🤗That cider bar, they also serve a dry Rose’, is a nice place to sit and relax. There is a stage off to the side for live music.

On Saturday, we embarked on an excursion to engage in cherry picking at Fish Kill Farm, an exemplary location for this activity. The entry fees, which included a box of cherries, were remarkably reasonable. The topography of the farm, with its picturesque valley, added to the scenic ambiance. We also had the opportunity to observe Apple and peach trees. There were diverse varieties of cherries available. I would highly recommend revisiting this destination.

We visit yearly, this is our go to spot for strawberry picking but this year we opted to go cherry picking instead. Plenty of cherries but they weren’t sweet…expensive for what you get (4 pints of cherries that you pick yourself for $58) but you’re really paying for the experience rather than the product. It is pretty well organized and not as chaotic compared to other farms I’ve been to. The grill and cider tasting restaurant both are worth a visit. I will continue to visit yearly but won’t be back for their cherries..their peaches on the other hand looked great and were sweet. This is more of a grownup farm, it doesn’t really have a lot for kids to do!

Reserve online and the price paid already includes fruit picking boxes and admission for up to five people! This is a good deal since I have also been to farms where there are also entry fees. Many types of fruits are available on this farm including cherries, blueberries, apples, strawberries, raspberries, and even currants. This is a very large property and note that there are hayrides to get around.

Love it here. Highly recommend to get reservations in high season. Staff is friendly and market has a variety of things to choose from. Berry and cherry picking was so much fun. Can’t wait to come back for apple picking season!
